shaden_pp cropDr. Shaden Ghattas, PT is the founder of and chief physical therapist at Universus Physical Therapy. She is an excellent diagnostician and has a sincere interest in the health and well being of her patients.  She is a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook, where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Most of her years practicing were spent in Manhattan, at some of the most prestigious institutions that the city has to offer. She has worked for NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, rotating through their orthopaedic, sports medicine, neurology and acute care units. There she was the lead physical therapist for the hospital’s unique “Initiative for Women with Disabilities” program. In addition to her clinical background, Dr. Ghattas  has been an adjunct professor in the Biology department at Adelphi University.

Dr. Ghattas has unprecedented passion for and is uniquely skilled in the fields of orthopedics, manual therapy and women’s health. Having experienced the immense joy and challenge of post-partum recovery, as well as numerous injuries during her athletic career, she believes a safe and effective recovery from physical trauma and/or untreated mal-alignment syndromes should be timely, effective and lend itself to maintaining balance and structure within one’s life.

Dr. Ghattas has a passion for higher learning. Her passion has led her to continuously participate in advanced clinical coursework in her field. She is currently pursuing her Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP) through the American Physical Therapy Association. In addition to her expertise and advanced knowledge of Pelvic PT, she is also pursuing an advanced manual therapy degree through the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT).



I have been treated by Dr. Shaden at Universus PT for about a month now and I haven’t felt this good in a long time.
