Craniosacral Therapy in Huntington
Tension you cannot stretch or push away often lives deeper than muscle. Craniosacral therapy in Huntington works with your nervous system, gently, to help it finally let go.

What is craniosacral therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, light-touch technique that works with the tissues surrounding your skull, spine, and sacrum to release tension held in the central nervous system. Instead of forceful pressure, your therapist uses a soft, sustained touch to sense subtle patterns of restriction and give your body room to release them on its own. It is used for headaches and migraines, neck and jaw tension, stress-related tightness, and chronic pain that has not responded to more forceful approaches. For a nervous system that is already on edge, low-force care is not a lesser option. It is often the more effective one.
At Universus, craniosacral therapy is delivered by the same skilled hands treating the rest of your body, so it is layered into your plan rather than handled as a separate, disconnected service. Many patients pair it with other manual therapy in the same visit, using the calm of craniosacral work to help the nervous system settle before or after more active hands-on treatment. The result is a session that feels quiet, but reaches tension that harder techniques tend to miss.
Who it's for.
Craniosacral therapy tends to help people whose pain or tension has a stress component to it, or whose symptoms have not budged with more forceful hands-on work.
Struggling with headaches or migraines
When tension builds around the skull and upper neck, headaches follow. Craniosacral therapy works directly with that tissue to ease the pattern instead of just waiting for the next flare-up to pass.
Carrying tension in the jaw or neck
Clenching, grinding, and stress all show up as tightness in the jaw and neck that regular stretching rarely touches. This gentle approach reaches that tension where it actually lives.
Dealing with stress-related tightness
When your nervous system stays on high alert, your body stays tight along with it. Craniosacral therapy gives that system a chance to settle, which often lets the muscular tension underneath finally release.
What to expect in a session.
This is one of the gentlest sessions we offer, but it is still purposeful, hands-on care from start to finish.
Settling in
You get comfortable, fully clothed, usually lying face up. Your therapist begins with a light, still touch, often at the head, neck, or sacrum, to sense how your system is holding tension.
Following the release
Using very light pressure, your therapist follows subtle shifts in the tissue, giving restricted areas time and space to release rather than forcing them to.
Integration and calm
Sessions often end with a few quiet minutes for your nervous system to settle into the change. Many people leave feeling noticeably calmer, even before other symptoms shift.
Craniosacral therapy is very low-force and generally well tolerated. Let your therapist know if you feel light-headed or unusually emotional afterward. Both can happen as tension releases.
I have been to many different physical therapy providers. Universus is top notch. The attention given by the entire staff is exceptional. The therapists are excellent. I have seen both Nick and Alyssa and each have provided wonderful experiences. I highly recommend Universus.
