Accessibility Statement

Universus Physical Therapy & Wellness is committed to making universuspt.com usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation. Accessibility is part of how we build and maintain this site, not an afterthought.

Conformance Target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and more usable for everyone. WCAG 2.1 AA is also the technical standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Section 504 rule and is the benchmark most commonly applied in ADA Title III web accessibility matters.

Measures We Have Taken

This site was built, and has since been audited, with accessibility as a requirement rather than an add-on. That work includes: semantic landmark structure (header, navigation, main content, footer) and a skip-to-content link on every page; a single, correctly ordered heading on each page; visible keyboard focus indicators on every interactive element; descriptive alternative text on images, including staff photos and credential badges; forms with labels programmatically tied to their fields and errors that are announced to assistive technology, not shown by color alone; support for reduced-motion preferences, so anyone with vestibular or motion sensitivity gets a still, fully readable page; and content that remains visible and usable if a script fails to load, rather than depending on JavaScript to become visible at all. We do not use an accessibility overlay or widget; access is built into the page itself.

Ongoing Review

We review this site's accessibility periodically and whenever we add or redesign a page or feature, using both automated testing and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks. Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, and we treat reports of barriers as something to fix promptly, not just log.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some parts of this site rely on third-party tools we do not fully control, and may not yet be fully accessible:

• Google Reviews widget (Elfsight): the testimonials widget on our homepage is a third-party embed. We have asked its vendor about keyboard and screen-reader support and will replace it if it cannot be made to meet this standard.
• Embedded Google Map: the interactive map on our Contact and location pages is provided by Google. If you are unable to use it, our address, phone numbers, and directions link are also provided as plain text and links nearby.
• Mobile menu without JavaScript: our full navigation menu on phone-sized screens requires JavaScript to open. If your browser has JavaScript disabled, use the "Home" logo link or call us directly, and we will point you to the right page.
