Dr. Shaden Ghattas
A former All-American athlete, Dr. Shaden Ghattas earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University over 15 years ago. She specializes in orthopedics, spinal manipulation, posture and biomechanics, and manual therapy, and teaches anatomy, physiology, and orthopedics to fellow clinicians. A frequent community speaker on back pain, she is also a 20-year yoga practitioner who builds home yoga programs for patients recovering from chronic injury, and advises patients on nutrition, stress management, meditation, and supplements.
A good plan of care treats the person in front of me, not just the pain they walked in with.
What guides the work.
What guides the work: Movement as medicine, and treating the whole person behind the diagnosis. You will never be passed between assistants or handed a generic sheet of exercises. Every session is intentional, and the standard never drops from your first visit to your last.
Life beyond the treatment table.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Ghattas stays active through exercise and yoga, plays sports with her kids, and spends her downtime traveling, reading, and pursuing her own spiritual and personal growth.
